Nature Journaling

  • Northwestern REC Community Forest 22862 Wenner Dr Cambridge Springs, PA 16403 US (map)

Escape from the drama of modern life by spending time with nature and a notebook. Record what you observe by journaling or drawing or some other way that speaks to you. Richard Gosnell, Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide and astronomy lecturer, will lead this monthly session over the course of the year.  Each month we will discuss different ways we can connect with the more-than-human-world by learning some basic tools of mindfulness and observation.  The practice of observing and recording nature will encourage a deeper connection with the outdoors; relax an overactive mind; and enhance greater sensitivity to the patterns of nature.  Come to as many sessions as you are able.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration.  Park in the cul-de-sac at the end of Wenner Drive. Open to all levels of experience. Bring a waterproof seat, notebook, and pencil. Dress for the weather. Must be 18 to attend unless accompanied by a parent. Cost: Your first session is free then $10 per session. Rain date: June 21st 9:00 am. No pets.
