Nature Journaling

  • Northwestern REC Community Forest 22862 Wenner Dr Cambridge Springs, PA 16403 US (map)

Celebrate the vernal equinox by connecting with nature through journaling! Escape from the drama of modern life by spending time with nature and a notebook. With the start of warmer weather and the beginning of the growing season, now is the perfect time to watch nature begin a new cycle of life. Richard Gosnell, Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide and astronomy lecturer, will lead this monthly session over the course of the next 12 months.  Each month we will discuss different ways we can connect with the more than human world by learning some basic tools of mindfulness and observation.  These practices will encourage a deeper connection with the outdoors; relax an overactive mind; and enhance greater sensitivity to the patterns of nature.  Come to as many sessions as you are able.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration.  Park in the cul-de-sac at the end of Wenner Drive. Open to all levels of experience. Bring a waterproof seat, notebook and pencil and dress for the weather. Must be 18 to attend unless accompanied by a parent. Cost: Your first session if free then the cost is $10 per session.
